Note: Earline was called Sister by all of her family all of her life. When she was born, Clara's friend Dell Geddings told Clara to name her Inez Virginia, so Clara gave that name to the doctor. Later, her brother Oris said he wanted her to name the baby Claire Earline, so Clara changed it. (Claire Goodman and Earline McElveen were two of Oris's girlfriends.) About 13 years later, Clara found that Earline had gotten two birth certificates; one in each name. When it was corrected; the state eliminated the one with Inez Virginia and removed Claire from the second one; so the only name now on her birth record is Earline.
