They lived on a farm in Carvers Bay, Georgetown Cty. S. C. They had three sons, Walter Hazard, born in 1888, Walter Kenneth, born in 1889, and James Tillman, born in 1890. Daniel died circa 1900 and is buried at Hucksfield Cemetery, Georgetown County, SC according to all family records. There is no marker for Daniel, but there is a marker there for his wife, Charlotte Tompkins Owens Avant who died in 1912. . Grandmomma Clara Rowe Owens said that Daniel was a very old man when he died and that he died in the year that she was born. She knew a great deal about him because not only was he the father of her husband, James Tillman Owens; he was also the brother of her grandmother Louisa (Ellie) Owens Rowe who married Stephen Thomas Rowe. Therefore, he was her great uncle as well as her father-in-law. he was much older than his wife Charlotte.
