a. Note:   Calhoun Times-Thurs. May 7, 1925: card of thanks from Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Wiles for all kindnesses shown by friends and relatives during the illness and death of Mrs. Rosa A. Staley, who passed away May 1st, 1925.
 Rosa and Donald had no children of their own; But they raised two Staley children. Miss Anna Julia Jones (sister of Herman Jones) said she thought they raised Marion E. Staley and another Staley child; probably Donald's children by his first
 wife Sarah E. Fairy. .
 Rosa married late in life. She was still living at home in 1880. She was then 26 yrs. old.

 Married: Miss Rosa A. Staley....Nov. 1, 1883....to Mr. Donald N. Staley, all of Orangeburg County.
 Obit: Southern Christian Advocate, Sept. 17, 1925:
 Miss Rosa Anna Staley.... was born June 16, 1852, and quietly died in the Pine Grove Community on Friday, May 1, 1925. She is survived by one brother, Mr. John T. Staley, and three sisters, Mrs. H. N. Coir (Carr), Mrs. J. E. Wiles, Mrs. P.S.B.
 Wertz. Her husband, Mr. Donald Nelson Staley preceded her to the grave by eleven years, leaving no children....services at East Bethel Church....laid to rest in the East Bethel Cemetery...
