  <u><i><b>Recollections of Dorothy Spooner Curran</b></i></u>: Mary GERTRUDE had peritonitis from a ruptured appendix and died. There are a lot of ruptured appendices in our family. Dorothy and her sister Margaret went down by train to the funeral. Dorothy was 14 1/2 and Margaret the same age as Gertrude.
