a. Note:   Frederick G. Bryant, Sr., 83, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his home.
  Born in Newark, he was formerly of Maplewood and summered in Point Pleasant before moving there permanently. He graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, in 1946, and from the Webb Institute, Glen Clove, NY, in 1950.
  Mr. Bryant worked as a marine engineer and naval architect retiring from Worthington Pump Corporation, Harrison, where he was employed for forty years.
  Fred was a former member of the Borough of Point Pleasant Council; the Zoning Board of Adjustment; and the Open Space Committee. He was responsible for the restoration of the Osborne Cemetery; served as vice president of the Point Pleasant Historical Society; and was a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers.
  He was a parishioner of Saint Mary's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, where he was an usher, and had been a member of Saint Uriel's Episcopal Church, Sea Girt.
  An avid boater, sailor, and anything water related, he was a member of the Manasquan River Yacht Club and in his youth was a lifeguard at Risden's Beach, Point Pleasant.
  Surviving are his [second] wife, Joan E. Wolfe Bryant; two sons, Fred Bryant and his wife Jacqueline and Jeffrey Bryant and his wife Barbara, all of Manasquan. His first wife Edith passed away in 2004. He is also survived by six natural grandchildren.
