  Mrs. Edith N. Fender, 84, of Freeport, died Tuesday evening in Barry county medical care facility, Hastings, where she had lived the past year.
  Born January 11, 1887 in Eaton county, she was a daughter of Anson and Mary Clark Downing. She married Nathaniel Fender, February 22, 1910 and he preceded her in death in November, 1951. The couple had moved to Freeport from Dowling in 1950.
  Surviving are two sons, Earl and Adam Fender of Dowling; one daughter, Mrs. Dale King of Middleville, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
  Services will be at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa at 3:30 p.m. August 13 and burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
