Wendy Anne (Halford) Crowley, departed her Earthly residence in Memphis, Tennessee for her Heavenly abode, on Tuesday September 4th, 2018` after a three month battle with two aggressive inoperable cancers.
Wendy (tubagurl) was born on October 9th, 1967 in Owosso, Shiawassee Co., Michigan to David G. and Anne M (Fender) Halford. They moved to Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan when she was three and she lived in the area most of her life. She played the tuba in the Tecumseh and Adrian HS Bands, wrote for the school paper, and graduated from Adrian High School in 1985. She worked as a counselor and assistant band instructor at a Christian camp, and did child care for handicapped children, which she considered as a future occupation.
Later, she took a job at Thetford Corporation where she met her beloved husband of 29 years, and they were married August 19, 1989 in Tecumseh, Michigan. Dan and Wendy had two children, Eric and Airyn. Four years ago Wendy, Eric and Dan moved to Memphis, Tennessee to be closer to her niece, Celeste.
From the time Wendy was young she made friends where ever she went. A woman of many talents, she devoted herself to her family, enjoyed reading, archaeology, mythology, rhinos, crafts, all things Tuba related, working with children, and supported programs for special needs children and adults.
She is survived by her husband Daniel Patrick Crowley, son Eric M Crowley, daughter Erin Airyn Crowley who still lives in Adrian; Wendy's parents David and Anne Halford of Adrian; brother, sister-in-law, and niece David S, Margarita Sandino, and Celeste Halford; and brother Jamie S Halford, all from Memphis. Also grieving Wendy`s departure are loving aunts and cousins, including Jennifer Malmquist who was like a sister to her. Wendy`s in-laws and countless of her dear friends whose lives she had touched and enriched will always cherish her and miss her.
For those who wish to honor her memory, Wendy's wish was that in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to the Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee at http://efwtn.org.
