 Nina J. Stanford - Hastings
 Nina J. (Conklin) Stanford, 85, of Hastings died Thursday, April 20, 1995, in Harvath's Adult Foster Care in Dowling. She was bom April 23, 1909, in Johnstown Township to George and Lena (Packer) Conklin. She attended Bristol School. She was employed by the Dowling Post Office for almost 15 years. She was a member of the Dowling Country Chapel, serving as a former church treasurer, a Sunday School superintendent and a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the A.A.R.P., Women's Society of Christian Service, the Dowling Library Circle, the Women's Sewing Circle, and MAD J). She enjoyed gardening and was well-known for her handicrafts.
 She married George H. Standford on Nov. 19, 1933. He died Feb. 22, 1992. Also preceding her in death were a son, Glen G. Stanford in 1959; brothers, John, Clifford, Leslie and Albert Conklin; and sisters, Edna and Anna Conklin and Louise Fender. Surviving are daughters, Ruth A. Dudgeon of Kalamazoo and Joanne Van Ameyden of Dowling; three grandchildren; and sisters, Elsie Davis of Hastings and Grace Ritchie of Bellevue. Visitation: 10 a.m. Monday at the Dowling Country Chapel of the United Methodist Church. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Kay Pratt and the Rev. Merlin Pratt officiating. Burial: Union Cemetery. Memorials: Dowling Country Chapel of United Methodist Church. Arrangements: Wren Funeral Home, Hastings.
