  OBITUARY
  MR. W. C. MASKELL
  The funeral of Mr. W. C Maskell, a well-known business man, of Hamilton, took place on Saturday afternoon from his home in Lindsay-street, and was attended by a large and representative body of citizens. The interment was made in the Church of England Cemetery, Sandgate.
 The chief mourners were the widow (Mrs. W. C. Maskell), Mr. William Maskell, and Mr. Charles Maskell (sons), Mrs. F. Duncan and Miss Eva Maskell (daughters), Mr. F. Duncan, Mrs. L Maskell, Mr. and Mrs. H. Wright (Singleton), Mr. J. R. L. Wright (Sydney), Mr. Fred Burke (Sydney), Mrs. A. Frenbach (Roolaroo), Mrs. W. J. Maskell, Mr. A. James (Wallsend), Mr. and Mrs. Rupert F. Randell (Hamilton), Mr. George Roberts (Queensland), Mr. John Roberts (Singleton), Mr. James Wright (Singleton), Mr. and Mrs. A. Lambert (Singleton), Mr. J. Morgan (Maitland), Mr. F Green (Belmont), Mr. Henry James, Mr. Charles James (Wallsend), Mr. F. Sinclair (Wallsend), and Mrs. A. Dickson.
 The President (Mr. R. H. Drummond), the Secretary (Mr. C W. Kearton), and members of the Hamilton Bowling Club, with the officers and brethren of Lodge Star in the East, U.G L., of New South Wales, and Lodges Hamilton, U.G.L., Royal Arch Chapter and Hamilton Mark Lodge, marched at the head of the cortege, which proceeded, by way of Beaumont-street to Hamilton Railway Station, where the body was taken by train to the cemetery.
 Others who attended were the Mayor of Hamilton (Ald. C. G. Melville), and Ald. J. M. L. Cram and H. Brien, representing the Hamilton Council, the Mayor of Newcastle (Ald . R. H Christie), Mr. E. Wilson Master Builders' Association, the President, Newcastle Jockey Club (Mr. J. Cameron), the Vice-President (Mr. R. D. Walker), the Secretary (Mr. D. A. Walker), and Mr. F. J. Francis (Meat Industry Workers' Union), Mr. F. J. Howard (Public Works Department), Ald. A. McGregor (Abattoir Board) Sergeant W. Woods, Mr. D. Amos, Mr. T. Torpay, Mr. E. J. Roadle with representatives of the Master Butchers' Association, Shell Co. of Australia Ltd., the Newcastle A. H. and I. Association, and many of the local bodies.
 The pallbearers were Wor Bros. C. Dagwell and A. Thomas, representing Lodge Star in the East, and Wor Bro. T. Sneddon and T. McElhinney, representing Lodge Hamilton.
 Rev. H. C. Barnes, of Hamilton, officiated at the service at the house and at the grave. Wor. Bros. T. McElhinney and A. Burkhardt conducted the Masonic service.
