PARKES March 9
A man named Peter Gilligan, a member ot the United Miners Mutual Benefit Association, after an illness of about ten weeks, died last week; his family draws from the club upwards of p25. This shows the great necessity of men, who have no means save their daily wages to support their families with, to belong to some benefit society, for not only do they get support for themselves and families during illness, but medical attendance is also supplied by the club.
