Sydney James White was born on 2 Aug 1928. He married Patricia Farrell and they lived in the Farrell family home in Coonamble where Patricia looked after her invalid mother and her father. They had seven children.
Syd worked until he lost his right arm in a car accident in 1969 when a cattle truck ran into the side of his car out on the Walgett road. He couldn't work for long periods of time after the accident, although he always had the interest of his horses and raising his greyhounds. Syd was a real country bushman with a mischievous sense of humour and would often be seen drinking his tea from his saucer instead of his teacup. Syd died on 3rd August 1990.

Patricia Joan Farrell, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Farrell, of Coonamble, was married last week to Sydney James White, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack White, of Coonamble. The bride wore a powder blue crepe frock trimmed on the skirt with coffee coloured lace, and her halo-shaped hat was of pink and blue plaited straw, she had pink accessories. Joan Farrell (the bride's sister) was bridesmaid, and Mr. Jack White best man.
