  Richmond Police Court.
 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1892.
  Before Messrs W. H. H. Becke, P.M., Col. Holborow and W. Mitchell, J's.P.
Thomas Norris, agent for Percy Norris, v. William Gow, claim for possession of a house and land at Kurrajong Slopes. Mr. Campbell appeared for plaintiff and Mr. C. A, Walker for defendant. From the evidence it would appear that a Mrs. Norris, in the absence of her husband, Thomas Norris. purchased the property from Wm. Gow, and borrowed the money from her brother, Wm. London, in whose possession the deeds now are; London put defendant, Gow, under a rental of 3s per week.
A lot of evidence was taken, occupying two hours, when the case was adjourned until the 14th November, with the consent of solicitors for defendant and plaintiff. This case was afterwards settled out of Court.
Police v. Catherine Norris, selling tobacco without a license. Mr. Campbell appeared for defendant. Objection was taken by Mr.Campbell that the information was not laid in the name of a Customs-officer.
The Bench considered the objection futile and dismissed the case.

  OBITUARY.
The death of a very old resident of Kurrajong, in the person of Mrs Catherine Norris, took place at the residence of her son, Mr Percy Norris, The Slopes, on Wednesday of last week, at the age of 72 years. Deceased was a relict of the late Thomas Norris, who passed away several years ago. She had lived in Kurrajong practically all her life and was well known throughout the district. She was a woman of very keen mental faculties, and her brain being of such an active nature she at times suffered, after some nervous trouble, from mental dejection, and was unable to perform her household duties. She reared a family of six, all of whom are highly respected throughout the community. They are Messrs Fred, Percy, Thomas, Mrs E Hennessy, Mrs J E McMahon and Mrs Hogan. The late Mrs Norris' end came rather suddenly, although it was partly expected. Mr E Campbell, J.P., in the absence of the Coroner, conducted a brief inquiry, and found that death was due to natural causes, viz., heart failure, in accordance with medical testimony. The funeral took place on Friday and it was largely attended. The procession wended its way to the R. C. cemetery, Kurrajong, where the interment took place in the family enclosure. Rev. Father O'Brien officiated at the grave, and Mr A Price was the undertaker.
