  OBITUARY.
  MRS. HENRY T. PURCELL.
THE Grim Reaper has been unusually busy during the past month or so, particularly among the pioneer residents and old hands of the district. Those who paved the way for the present virile and hustling yeomanry are passing hence almost every week, after strenuous, albeit well-spent lives, on this terrestial sphere - going to that home, let us hope
Where the wicked cease from troubling
and the weary are at rest.
On Friday morning last, at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. F. Cole, Riddel Street), there passed away one of the oldest residents of Molong district in tbe person of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Purcell, relict of the late Henry Thomas Purcell, of Redbank, the cause of death being bronchitis and senile decay. The old lady had been somewhat indisposed for about seven weeks prior to her death, but only took to her bed two days before the end came. The deceased was a native of Madras, India, and had passed by eight years the allotted span, 78 years, 50 of which had been spent in this district. For some time after arriving here the deceased and her late husband (who died about two years age) resided at Loombah, but disposing of their holding in that locality settled down at Redbank, where they resided for 30 years. The union of her marriage with Mr. Purcell was ten children, five girls and five boys, three of whom predeceased her. Those who survive her are: John Purcell (Brisbane), Henry Purcell (last heard of in Victoria), Charles Purcell (Queensland), William (Mullumbimby), Edward Purcell (Redbank), Miss E. Purcell (Sydney), Mrs. H. Cole and Mrs. F. Cole (Molong). In addition to the above the deceased leaves three sisters and a brother, Mrs E. Lang (St. Mary's), Mrs Putland (Evans Plains, Bathurst), Mrs Evans (Sydney), Mr William Farrell (Coonamble), besides a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral took place on Saturday and was well attended. The remains were interred in the Anglican section of the Molong Cemetery, the Rev. Canon Alldis conducting the burial service.
