  Extract from Mary Ellen Gilligan's Notes:
  Mary Ellen opened her home to her family in times of need. Her brother Peter lived with her in Coonamble due to his work commitment with her husband Francis. Peter's wife resided in Sydney.

  Peter Gilligan was a road builder in the Coonamble District. He owned about 70 Clydesdale draught horses which he yarded at 61 Wingadee Street, Coonamble, where his family lived. All the Farrell boys that were living at home at the time had the chore of feeding and watering the horses, whilst Peter travelled home to Sydney for the Christmas holidays. During Peter's absence the boys would ride and buck jump all the young horses without his permission.
