  MRS. ERVIN P. VAN BUREN
  Mae Shepard Bartlett was born April 5, 1903, in Northfield, Minnesota. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Bartlett. She attended schools in Tracy and Browns Valley, Minnesota, and graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1921. She received her B.A. degree from Eastern State College (now Dakota State College) and taught school at Wentworth, Orland, Emery and Artesian, South Dakota.
 On June 26, 1934, she married Dell Rapids attorney Ervin P. Van Buren in Madison. They had one son, Paul Bartlett Van Buren, now an attorney with Pacific Telephone Co. in San Francisco.
 Mrs. Van Buren took an active part in the affairs of her community. She was a member of the Dell Rapids Women's Club, P.E.O., Daughters of the Nile, American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Dell Rapids United Methodist Church.
 Besides her son, Paul, she is survived by her two sisters, Miss Margaret Bartlett and Mrs. Rodney T. (Marian) Parsons, both of Anaheim, California; and two nephews, James and Kenneth Parson, also of California.
 The pallbearers were John Hermanson, Frank Greening, Allen Brown, William Vogt, Tom Garry, and Dr. Paul K. Aspaas.
