Note:   William Perks the elder of Colnbrook (with William Perks the younger of Colnbrook) was found guilty of stealing 1 peck of coals (value 6d) at Buckinghamshire Quarter Sessions of midsummer 1819. Sentenced to 1 month's imprisonment (hard labour) and to be publicly whipped at Colnbrook.
 William Perks (a married man with 6 children, age 38) sentenced to death with a Daniel Thomas (age 30) at the Old Bailey 12 Apr 1820 for burglariously breaking and entering the dwelling house of Mary Slade, a widow, at White Hart Public House, Twickenham on 9 Mar 1820 stealing 2 x watches (value £5), 3 x gowns (value 25 shillings), 1 x pelisse (value £1), 1 x pair of stockings (value 5 shillings), 1 x shirt (value 5 shillings), 3 x pieces of silver coin (value 7 shillings, 5 shillings and 6d in monies numbered) and 6 x £1 bank notes. Admitted "due to pressure of times" to smuggling and selling of liquor, but claimed bought 2 x watches and clothes from a tall man for £6 and 5 shillings. Was found in possession of silver watch, 5 x £1 bank notes and 12s 6d of silver at Adam and Eve public house in Westham on 14 Mar 1820 when in company of Daniel Thomas (who was found in possession of 1 silver watch and 1 x £1 bank note). A search of his house at Colnbrook, Buckinghamshire (8 miles from Twickenham) in presence of his wife on 16 Mar 1820 found some clothes. Subsequently commuted to a life sentence and transported to New South Wales, Australia onboard Asia 3 Sep 1820, arriving 3 May 1821.

 Listed in Colonial Secretary's papers 10 Dec 1824 as assigned to Thomas May, Buck? Hill.
 Employed at G. Sellers Dunn?, Campbelltown according to 1825 New South Wales general muster.
 Sentenced Sydney 19 Jul 1827 to 6 months (iron gang) for robbery from HMS Stores (to start Parramatta 6 Aug 1827).
 Sentenced Sydney 17 Nov 1827 to additional 6 months (iron gang) for running away from his gang (to start Parramatta 3 Dec 1827).
 Sentenced Sydney 1 Jul 1828 to additional 6 months (iron gang) and 50 lashes for running away from his gang (to start Parramatta 10 Jul 1828).
 Sentenced Sydney 2 Oct 1828 to 50 lashes for running away from his gang and returned to Parramatta 6 Oct 1828.
 Sentenced Sydney 25 Nov 1828 to be returned to Parramatta for running away from Prospect Property and returned to Parramatta 2 Dec 1828.
 According to New South Wales Gazette "Return of all male convicts assigned Dec 1832 - Perks, William, Asia, Calico Printer, to Mrs. M. Cope, Windsor".
 According to New South Wales Gazette "Return of all male convicts assigned Feb 1833 - Perks, William, Asia, Calico Printer, to Frederick Drennan, Airds".
 A calico printer at time of son William's 2nd marriage in 1850 and son John's marriage in 1851.
 Possibly the William Perks married London - Streatham (St. Leonard) 20 Jul 1802 to Ann Wessen (both of Streatham) as witnessed by John Mauntierd and John Hone (all signed marriage license).
