Re-enlisted 11 Feb 1816 (DM 29/10/159 Joseph Blaxter, rating, age 30) serving on Albion 11 Feb 1816-21 May 1819 and Severn 15 Jul 1819-23 Jul 1822 when paid off. Discharge letter addressed to Joseph Blaxter care of John T. Coan (Letter Carrier) St. Stephens, Norwich, Norfolk. of St. Mary Coslany at time of marriage. Signed marriage license with his mark. Marriage witnessed by Thomas Stagg, Mary Stagg (both signed marriage license with their marks), Samuel Hayden and Hannah Hayden (both signed marriage license). First two witnesses were possibly the Thomas Stagg and Mary Hare, married Norwich (St. Andrew), Norfolk 4 Apr 1819 (both signed marriage licenses with their marks) and latter therefore possibly a cousin of Joseph (and the Mary Harry born 21 Dec 1795, baptised Norwich (St. Clement), Norfolk 27 Dec 1795, daughter of George Harry born c1752, buried Norwich (St. Clement), Norfolk 20 Jan 1803 (age 50), and Mary Plumb married Norwich (St. Clement), Norfolk 8 Oct 1795). 3rd witness was the parish clerk. Admitted as a pensioner to the Royal Naval Hospital, Greenwich, Kent Dec 1841. Died Age 67 as a pensioner (registered Sep 1847). As baptism record is abour 5-10 years after his birth, alternatively possibly: 1) Joseph Blaxter baptised Norwich, Norfolk 30 Jan 1774, son of John Blaxter and Elizabeth ?. 2) Joseph Baxter baptised Norwich (St. Stephen), Norfolk 17 Sep 1780, son of Joseph Baxter and Sarah ?. (mistranscribed as Baxter rather than Blaxter) 3) the ?. Blaxter born 24 Feb 1781, baptised Norwich (St. Michael Coslany), Norfolk Feb 1781, child of ?. Blaxter and Mary ?. (parish register water damaged). 4) an unbaptised son of one of the other small number of Blaxter families resident in Norwich in the 1780's (as eldest daughter was named Rachel then possibly a grandson of the William Blaxter and Esther Coleman married Wymondham (Virgin Mary and St. Thomas à Becket), Norfolk 7 May 1762 who were parents of a Joseph Blaxter baptised Norwich (St. Peter per Mountergate), Norfolk 8 Dec 1767, buried Norwich (St. Peter per Mountergate), Norfolk 22 Jun 1770 (as an infant) and Rachael Blackster buried Norwich (St. Peter per Mountergate), Norfolk 11 Jan 1797 (age 7?, as mother would have been c60 at time of birth assume age incorrect as unclear on register, possibly therefore also the mother of this Joseph who was born out of wedlock and named his 1st daughter after her) as well as several other unbaptised offspring who were also buried with their parents in Norwich (St. Peter per Mountergate), Norfolk). 1841 Census lived Black Horse Yard, Lower Westwick Street, St. Lawrence, Norwich, Norfolk - Age 60 (mistranscribed as Blascter).
