Notes
a. Note:   There was a Lutheran "training school" in Michigan City before 1892. It was not a part of the Ohio Synod, but apparantly the
school and church were on very good terms with the Ohio Synod.
Henry W. Ernst served as pastor in the Michigan City church in
 1875 - 1877.
b. Note:   At the time of his marriage, Carl was serving a church in Shakopee.
Gertrude tells the story of Hanna's lovely silk wedding dress
and matching slippers. The day of the wedding, it was raining,
so Martin and Max wrapped her in a bed sheet and carried her to
the carriage so that her dress and shoes would not be ruined.
