a. Note:   Grandpa Delger was a Mason, and head of the Winthrop lodge for a while.
  He had a great deal of musical talent, and, apparantly without
 formal lessons, could play the fiddle and several other
 instruments. He played the French Horn in the Winthrop city
 band.
b. Note:   ||Years of breathing un-filtered granite dust eventually gave him a form of black-lung disease, which turned into
 tuberculosis.
