a. Note:   irt' I think I now can say that I have this family correctly identified. There were three or four other men who used the name 'Peter Ernst' in Anspach at the time, so any other information probably goes with one of them.
  The only problem is, the Familienbuch gives a different Peter Ernst as the husband of Maria Catherine Brand -- Peter Ernst II, born 1786. But this is the one that married Maria Catharina Brand, I am quite sure.
Note:   Since the information in the birth, marriage and death records for Peter and wife Maria Catharina (with one minor exception) all agree, the number of children (2) also agrees, and the only occupation listed for both Peter and his father is 'Landw
b. Note:   e other Peter was born 21 Feb 1786.
Note:   The Familienbuch gives two dates for his birth. It looks like two Peter Ernsts were combined, and the author of the Familienbuch could not tell them apart. (So how am I supposed to do it?) Anyway, 1779 does seem to be the correct date, and th
c. Note:   Cause of death was a stroke (Schlagfluss.)
