a. Note:   ZACHARIAH, JR. was a carpenter by trade. During the Civil War, he served in the Union Army from 1863-1865, Co G, 13th Kentucky, USACalvary. The ammunition wagon he was guarding upset, and ZACHARIAH's arm was broken. He spent several weeks recuperating before rejoining his regiment in Saltville, Smyth, Virginia, USA.
  In 1850 ZACHARIAH, age 28, a farmer was living with C. A. COLLINS (his wife, CATHERINE ANN), age 26 born Tennessee, USA; M. COLLINS (MARY ELLEN), female, age 3 and L. COLLINS (LEMUEL), male, age 1 (1850 Census of Adair County, Kentucky, USA).
