Note: She was born about 1835 (Arthur R. Hadley); 1847 (Pamela Yvonne Johnson); or, June 18, 1847 (Charlie Collins). On Marth 15, 1885, MARY ELLEN applied for guardianship of her six daughters, AMANDA R. AARONS, LAURA E. AARONS, ELIZABETH AARONS, MARY L.M. AARONS, DELLA B. AARONS and GEORGE ANN AARONS, in Adair County, Kentucky, USA. Her sureties(s) was ZACHARIAH COLLINS, SR. It is presumed that her father, ZACHARIAH COLLINS, JR. assumed the name of ZACHARIAH COLLINS, SR. after his father's death. That would also probably mean that JOE ZACH COLLINS was the third ZACHARIAH COLLINS (Guardian's Bond, The Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, p. 105; Bobbie (Cooley) Callahan). After Dr. GEORGE's death, MARY was forced to look for other means of support for her family. Her daughters swapped work with a neighbor. They would hoe in exchange for getting the plowing done. Both Dr. GEORGE and MARY were poor bill collectors. She trusted a lawyer to collect Dr. GEORGE's outstanding bills. The lawyer was a good collector and built a fine home for himself, but MARY got almost nothing. She bought a small farm near Glens Fork to be near her kin. MARY was patient and cheerful. In her later years, she married JOHN ELLISON. He was old but of unusual good health and survived her. JOHN's daughter, MARTHA, married REV. GEORGE WASHINGTON COLLINS; the son of TIMOTHY FROGUE and ELIZABETH (AARON) COLLINS. ELIZABETH (AARON) COLLINS and DR. GEORGE A. C. AARON were brother and sister. MARY E. ELLISON was born 18 June 1847 and died 13 January 1915 at age of 67 years, 6 months and 25 days. Her profession was a housewife and she was born in Adair County, Kentucky, USA. Her father was ZACHARIAH COLLINS and he was born in Adair County, Kentucky, USA, The maiden name of mother was KATHERINE SPARKS who was born in Tennessee, USA. MARY died primarily from Tuberculosis of lungs; a contributory (secondary) cause of death was Bronchopneumonia. She had been ill for 10 months prior to her death. This information was given to Kentucky, USAVital Statistics by CHARLEY COLLINS of Glens Fork, Adair, Kentucky, USAand witnessed by S. N. TAYLOR, M.D., from Montpelier, Adair, Kentucky, USA.
