 Story goes: One of her children was ill, and she stopped some nunsin the street, saying she would convert to Catholicism if they helpedher child. The child died, but she still converted.
 
 
 In about 1932, when Gerald was 16, Louisa took the children (exceptfor Gerald, who stayed to keep an eye on Albert) & moved out. Alberttook to drink.
