He/She might be either Ludvig or Hilda which are listed as being buried in Norway but Drugan family information is that two babies were buried at sea. The could mean either Ludvig or Hilda was buried in Norway while the other was the unknown "infant" who was subsequently buried at sea. ---------------------------------------- (Source: verbal info from Lena Louise Hanson, approximately 1970) "Homes in Westby and Trempealeau County, Wisconsin Two baby brothers died and buried at sea while en route to US." I'm not sure about 2 babies dying at sea. Maybe I misunderstood her or perhaps this was correct because their two youngest children, Ludvig and Hilda, are shown within the Drugan Family records to have died in Norway. Perhaps noting them as dying in Norway would also mean that they died and presumably were buried at sea. "Worked as a shoemaker, saddle repairs, bicycle repair shop." I also think she meant for this comment to apply to Lars (Louis) Hansen the son, and not Syver Hansen the father. ---------------------------------------- The father's last name as used in the US was spelled "HANSEN" and the spelling on the gravestone of Sigri, the wife, is also spelled "HANSEN". However it appears that perhaps all of the children that came to America spelled their last names "HANSON". This is evidenced by a photo of the gravestone of the son, Lars "Louis", who spelled his last name as "HANSON". A daughter, Sigrid (Sarah), who apparently never married, also has her last name on her gravestone spelled as "HANSON". -----------------------------------------
