Notes
a. Note:   Although his true birth name was Friedrich Wilhelm, he went by name of "William".
 ----------------------------------------
Following the death of Christian Friedrich Kramer II in 1867, there apparently were two mortgages issued by the father to each of two sons, William and Frederick. These mortgages were recorded only 8 months before his death and upon his death the family probably wiped the debt clean as part of the estate settlement.

William Kramer, son of above (Christian Kramer), was born in Brandenburg, September 13, 1832, and was therefore nearly twenty-four years old when he came to America with his parents. On July 24, 1860, he married Elizabeth, daughter of Charles Schartan, a deceased pioneer of this town, elsewhere mentioned in this work. After buying a share in his father's homestead he sold the whole of his land and bought the Schartan homestead of 100 acres, on Sec. 11, in 1882, and dwells thereon. He is a Lutheran and a Republican; has served as school director. Eight children have been born to him, as here given; Elmer, March 13, 1871; Elizabeth, April 25, 1874; Molly, June 22, 1876; Susannah, March 30, 1879; Huldah A., June 27, 1881.

  KRAMER WILLIAM F. BIOGRAPHY
BOOK - HISTORY OF WINONA COUNTY, MN., VOL 1 & 2, PUBLISHED IN 1913
William F. Kramer was born in Germany and married Elizabeth Schartan. He came to America in 1855, and located in Dodge County, Wisconsin. In 1856 he came to Minnesota and located in Utica township, this county, where he bought land and carried on general farming until 1889, when he disposed of his farm and moved to Dodge county, this state, where he remained until 1902, when he moved to Jamestown, North Dakota, where he is now living with his youngest daughter, Alvina, wife of Levi Lisk.
NOTE: William's wife died in 1915 in Minnesota. William is not listed on the 1910 US Census at the residence of his daughter, Alvina Lisk (living in Hawkinson, ND at the time). Is it likely that he never permanently relocated to North Dakota, as he died in Minnesota in 1918?
