b. Note:   XI3441 Catharine is believed to be buried at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Muskingum County, Ohio which is where her husband was also buried next to his 3rd wife. There is no visible marker for Catharine and apparently there are no burial records to be found.

c. Note:   NF1519 John Gibbons was married a total of three times. His first wife was Rosannah Reeve whom he married on 26 Oct 1830 in Muskingum County, Ohio. She died in 1836. His next wife was Catharine Darner whom he married on 10 May 1842 in Muskingum County, Ohio. She died in 1852. He was married for the third time to Margaret McCoy on 6 Jan 1859 in Guernsey County, Ohio.
  There were up to 14 children fathered by John. At least four were born to his first wife, up to nine born to Catharine, and one born to his third wife.
  There are at least two children attributed to Catharine Darner by many researchers that may not have been born to her. These two include Catherine, b. 1839 and Sarah, b. 1841. The reason is obvious in that they were born before John and Catharine were married in 1842. The births of those two children could be possible especially since his first wife had died in 1836 and perhaps they were born illegitimately. A third child generally attributed to Catharine Darner may be Elizabeth Darner, born about 1845. She may be confused with the wife of Catharine's brother, Orren D. Gibbons, as she had about the same birth date.
  There are no birth records for any one of them.
