Note: NI40011 It is most probable that William was born in Philadelphia where his parents resided until some time before 1870 when they all moved to Johnson County, Iowa.
However, no specific birth records for any of the children can be found. For both Joseph and William who are believed to have died as infants there are several death records found with their names but such records are very short, merely giving the name of the deceased, and the disease or ailment from which they died. There are no names of the parents or other relatives thus making identification nearly impossible because of the commonality of the names.
