a. Note:   Research by Noel PRICE (noel.price1@bigpond.com) John Stewart was born in the Highlands [up from Glasgow] about 1800. He married Mary Kilpatrick, possibly in Glasgow. All that is known of John is that he went to live in Glasgow and his profession was a Naval School Teacher. John and Mary had six children - Alexander, who was a stockbroker - William, who became a bank manager - John, like his father, became a school teacher - Two daughters, names unknown, who married and went to live in Canada and the United States.
