Note: Former Prairie Woman Dies Wenatchee - Mrs. Rachel Berg, formerly of Grangeville, died Tuesday of a heart condition complicated by the flu. She had lived at Wenatchee for about 15 years. She was born on Sept. 22, 1906, in Kalispell, Mont., later moving to Grangeville, Idaho, where she spent her early life and completed her formal education. She grew up and attended schools at Grangeville and was married to Dale Foust, a Grangeville barber, for a number of years. They were later divorced, and she married Gustave "Gus" Berg, an employe of the U.S. Reclamation Bureau on Oct. 7, 1947. He died several years ago (1969). She was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. John M. Ely, Grangeville. Survivors include a son, J. B. Foust, in Connecticut; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Letha Lee, Lewiston, and Mrs. Bill Altman, Grangeville. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Bett's Chapel at Wenatchee. The Rev. Charles Straw will be officiating.
