a. Note:   August 2000 Dorothy graduated from High School in 1914 and went on to receive a degree in Home Economics at the University of N.D. graduating in 1919. She taught at Eyota, Minnesota and while there roomed with a family whose daughter went on to become Sister Mary Brigh, the CEO of St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Mn. Dorothy was married to Bryon Stone August 21, 1924 in LaMoure, N.D. and the honeymoon was at Stuart Lake - ate their evening meal at the hotel in Battle Lake and had liver and onions! The couple farmed at South Range, Wisconsin until 1932 when Byron became farm manager at Douglas County farm. In 1940 the family moved to Bellevue, Iowa where Byron managed two farms for Dr. Moulton. Harold, the oldest son graduated from Bellevue high school in 1942. In 1942 the family moved to Oconto, Wisconsin where Byron was employed at a plant manufacturing dried egg products for the armed services. In 1952 the children were all gone from home and Byron and Dorothy moved to West Concord, MN where they started the B.N. Stone Feed Co. Dorothy was 56 years of age and was a very active member of the company being responsible for all accounting. The business prospered and was joined by Fred in 1959. Dorothy retired in 1961. Byron and Dorothy moved to Stuart Lake in 1967 purchasing a year -round home on the west end of the lake. In 1974 the couple travelled to Spain for a 50th wedding trip and Dorothy suffered a stroke while there which left her partially paralyzed. In 1976 she suffered a fatal heart attack in Arizona. She was 79 at the time of her death - just about 3 weeks short of her 80th birthday June 18. She is buried in West Concord, MN.
