Note: Mrs. Rita (Lemire) Girard, 75, of 768 Sixth Ave., Berlin, NH, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, September 28, 2003, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was born in Berlin on June 24, 1928, the daughter of Adelard and Alice Lauze Lemire. A lifelong resident of Berlin, she attended local schools and was a member of the St. Kieran Parish now known as Good Shepherd Parish. She was previously employed at Wareknitters, the Brown Company in the towel room and as a boiler operator for James River Corporation and most recently as a clerk at the Big Apple Food Store. Her hobbies included playing pitch, crocheting and camping. She most enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She is survived by her five sons, Roland and Cynthia Girard, Raymond Girard and his fianc� Monique Perreault, Rodney and Ronda Girard, Ricky Girard and Randy and Amy Girard all of Berlin; four brothers, Albert Lemire of Gorham, NH, George (Pete) Lemire of Berlin, NH, Joseph (Dick) Lemire of Southington, CT and Donald Lemire of Gorham, NH; one sister, Theresa Riendeau of Berlin, NH; nine grandchildren, Ryan and Jonathan Girard of Berlin, NH, Nicole King of N. Stratford, NH, Nathan, Nicholas, Kaley, Anthony and Timothy Girard and Michael Lamontagne all of Berlin, NH; two great-grandchildren, Jesse King of North Stratford, NH and Elizabeth Girard of Berlin, NH; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband, Roger Girard on May 21, 1992. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Gerard and Henry Lemire and by her sister Arlene Boucher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be at a later date in St. Kieran Cemetery.
