a. Note:   N109 Obituary of Ruby Strachan
  STRACHAN -- Mrs. Ruby Strachan, aged 87 years, resident of Hogarth Hospital and formerly of Dawson Court, died in hospital Sunday, November 1st, 1987. Born in Montreal, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Chitty she moved to Fort William with her parents in 1905. She was raised and educated locally attending Fort William Collegiate. She was married to Mr. Jack Strachan here in 1929 [sic; actual date was 1927], and he predeceased her in 1962. She was a member of the Anglican Church and the Regent of Lady Grey Chapter of I.O.D.E. She was a gifted artist having taken direction from the late Georgie Campbell. Sh[e] enjoyed her many years spent at Amethyst Harbour. Survived by nephew William, Burlington; nieces Margaret and Sybil; godson John Knisley, Lloydminster, Alberta; cousins Peter, Robert, and Gwyneth Workman, Thunder Bay and several cousins in Manitoba. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Jenkens Funeral Home. Archdeacon Mark Conliffe of St. Michael and All Angels Church will officiate and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
