From the Winnipeg Free Press, Saturday, July 16, 1955. (I'm not sure this is the "right" Eleanor Strachan, but everything is plausible, including her middle name.)

Info on locations of Melvin and Ruth's three children ca 1972 (from email from Sybil Grace [Strachan], 25 April 2012)
I've looked back in old telephone directories we kept and Peter has written in Eleanor Strachan (Mrs. E.R.Mace)
4 Littlerock, Valois, Montreal.  This is followed by Ruth Strachan (Mrs. H.J.Wilcox) 84 Triton Bay, Winnipeg.  These entries would have been made probably about '72.  And I've just found an entry also by Peter for Sara Louise and John M Cook, 23 Lascelles Blvd, Toronto,  phone 416-488-7053.  This info probably came when I drove west with a friend and visited briefly with Ruth in Winnipeg.
Addendum from Margaret Strachan Taylor (email of 27 April 2012)
Sara Louise's husband John Cook died about 10-15 years ago.
