(A shorter notice also appeared in the Winnipeg Free Press on March 16, page 32. It seems very probable--though not certain--that this was Ruth Strachan's husband.) On March 12, 1982 at the Misericordia Hospital, Henry John Wilcox, aged 55 years, beloved husband of Ruth M. Wilcox of 607-1106 St. Mary's Road. Harry was born in Winnipeg and attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He was employed at Air Canada, Towne Pontiac, Stadium Ford and recently at Standard Aero Ltd. During the War he was in the Princess Pat Light Infantry. Fraternally he belonged to the Red River Lodge No. 172, Prince of Wales No. 11, King Edward Preceptory No. 24, Khartum Temple of the Shrine and the Fife and Drum Corps. Surviving, in addition to his loving wife Ruth, are his son Graham of Winnipeg; his daughter Linda and son-in-law Boyd Stevens and granddaughter Kimberly of North Delta, B.C.; his brother Stewart and sister-in-law Win of Winnipeg. Harry was predeceased by his father John in 1969 and his mother Johanna in 1971. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway at Furby, with the Rev. Stanley Millar officiating. As part of the funeral service, a Masonic service will be conducted. The service will terminate at the chapels. Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 202-777 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Ed Fawley, Jack Stanley, Reg Wyatt, Frank Kiraly, Fred Code, and Maurice Gunness. Honorary bearers will include all members of the Khartum Fife & Drum Corps.
