Continued: He was a U.S. Railway Mail Service clerk on the Dubuque-Chicago line in 1878. After he married, he lived in Chicago and Aurora, Illinois, but by 1883 had moved to New York City. In 1900, W. A Vail was listed as a Telephone Co. manager residing in Indianapolis. His residence in 1904 was in Brooklyn, N.Y., but his death occurred in a Minnesota clinic.
