Note: From an obituary in the Claremont [California] Courier, ca 12 August 1996, sent to Esther L. [White] Beake by her son Thomas Carleton Pearson: "Dorothy G. Pearson, a retired executive secretary at the Claremont Colleges, died Sunday, August 11, 1996 following a brief illness. She was 82 A Mayflower descendant, Mrs. Pearson was born April 11, 1914 in Holbrook, Massachusetts, and was raised in the Boston area. She attended high school in Arlington, Massachusetts and later enrolled at Northfield Seminary [?]. She married in 1939 and eventually moved to the Pomona Valley area where she resided for 38 years, most recently living in Pomona itself. For roughly twenty years, she worked at Pomona College, the Claremont University Center and the Claremont Graduate School, serving at one point as the executive secretary to the chancellor of the Claremont Colleges. For roughly a decade she resided in Mt. San Antonio Gardens..."
