[London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1906] Family records give her birthdate as 3 Jun 1854, so she seems to have shed a few years between England and the USA.,
Listed in the 1880 U.S. census, enumerated 8 June, in the household of Leonard A. Fread, a fish dealer, in Brookline, Massachusetts, as Amelia Lever, age 26, servant, born in England, parents born in England. [Rol T9_548; FHL film 1254548; Page: 376.4000; Enum. Dist. 509; Image 0034]. Interestingly, the next-door neighbors were Jerome Jones, crockery dealer, his son Theodore and three daughters, and his sister, their housekeeper. Since George Beake worked for Jerome & Theodore Jones, this is undoubtedly how they met.
