a. Note:   Daniel, "second son"; married Ruth Horton. Daniel Bigsby, born in or near Guysboro, N.S., probably about 1809; died subsequent to 1851; married 25 April 1837, at Guysboro, Ruth Horton, daughter of William and Lydia (Cook) Horton, a sister of his brother John's wife. They lived at Rochedale, and afterwards at Steep Creek, Guysboro Co. On the 30 May, 1840, Daniel Bigsby "of Salmon River," administrator of the estate of Charles Horton, who died intestate, conveyed land to Robert Horton and John Jones, both of Salmon River. He and his wife Ruth join in a deed, 2 Dec., 1850. He also purchased land in 1851. At least one other daughter, possibly two, besides Rachel.
