Note:   From the parish records of All Saints', All Cannings [1802]: "The affidavit of Mary Chamberlain, widow, is here inserted,- that she was present as godmother at the baptism in All Cannings church of Jane Lavinia, dau. of Wm. Miell, yeoman, decd. and Esther his wife now living, sometime in 1702 [sic], the child being a month old. And that Hy. Davis, the rector, John Swanborough the parish clerk, Dd. Wadworth, father of the sd. Esther Miell, Joseph Hamlen and his wife were the only persons present. Sworn 2 June 1820." --Clearly the year should be 1802!
