Notes
a. Note:   f Section 20 of what became in 1894 Black Bear Township named for the Black Bear Creek which flowed from west to east across the southern part of the township. A section map and article about Black Bear Township can be found at the Oklahoma Historical Society in a book entitled History of Noble County. The chapter on Black Bear Township mentions the land homesteaded by "Mary E. Hubbartt, formerly Mary E. Rorobow". The Cherokee Strip Museum is located just outside Perry, Oklahoma today. There one may also find Mary's name listed as participating in this historic event. Mary Ellen married John W. Hubbartt, 3 Dec 1894, in Noble County. She later divorces him, and according to Bible records written by Mary she marries her first husband's brother, Aaron. Her tombstone shows her as the wife of A.B. Rorabaugh. Mary Ellen died in October, 1916. In Fairview Cemetery, south of Perry, Oklahoma, there are 2 plots, 8 lots, registered in the name Rorabaugh. The plots are numbered 87 & 88.
