Shadrack Waldrop born c1755, certainly after 1750, in North Carolina(almost certainly, Orange County, North Carolina). In the mid-1760's hemoved with his father to Spartanburg County, South Carolina, where hedied in 1801. In 1766, when his father applied for a Land Grant he wasunder 16 years of age. Around 1773, in Spartanburg County, SouthCarolina, he married Patsey (Martha?) Couch, daughter of Thomas Couch, who also was born in North Carolina (almost certainly, Orange County North Carolina). Although now documentation has been found for hismarriage to Patsey Couch the circumstantial evidence strongly indicatesthat it took place. He,evidently, had four sons and four daughters but only the names of hissons are known and only Three of these have been proven.
