 It appears that Jechonias Waldrop was sometimes called John even thoughhe had a brother whos given name was John. He was part of the Waldropsettlement in SC, and later removed to Rutherford Co NC, where he leftdescendants.

  I Jechonias Waldrop senr. being weakly in body but of sound mind, andknowing that it is apponited once to die, do make this my last will andtestament. First resing my Soul to God, and that my body be decentlyburied and that all my just debts be justly paid. then I give andbequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret Waldrop the house and plantationwhereon I now live, including three hundred acres of land more or lessall the tract or parcel of land except two hundred and fifty acresincluding the improvement where James Summerhill Junr. now lives and alsothe including the land round the meeting house land crossing the creek atthe old ford that led to the meeting house-- and up the north prong ofthe creek to where the hill shuts to the creek and then up the ridge untothe back line of said tract or parcel of land, which (patent) said landfirst above mentioned three hundred acres including the building more orless I give and bequeath unto my wife Margaret during her natural lifewith the of four of my children having their support on it by theirlabour and behavior and at my wife Margaret's death, to be Equallydivided among the four named as follows, Ricahrd, Mary, Mary Ann, andRebecca the two hundred and fifty acres above mentioned I give unto mytwo sons Luke & Jechonias by their paying one third part of the value ofsaid land, which third part shall be divided as follows, the the heirs ofmy son Joseph Waldrop, Robert and Zachariah Waldrop and to my daughterMargaret Peter, and five dollars to the children Heirs of my son JohnWaldrop--- I further State that my sons Luke and Jechonias shall have twoyears after they get possession of said Land before they shall pay up tothe other legatees-- as to the personal estate I give and bequeath to mybeloved wife Margaret during her natural life, except a cow and calf orthe value thereof to my three daughters Mary, Mary Ann, and Rebecca andthen to be divided as follows to Alfred Hester if he stays with the oldwoman until he is twenty one years old that he has a horse and saddleworth forty dollars, and what remains at her death to be sold at twelvemonths credit and the money divided among the heirs of my son Joseph,Robert & Zachariah and Margaret Peter -- I nominate and appoint my twosons Luke and Jechonias as executors to this my last will and TestamentGiven under my hand and seal as my last will and testament.
