See HISTORY OF CLAYTON CO GA, p 520.
The line of Luke is based upon written records of wills and deeds.
Luke was in 1734 Hanover Co, VA. He received a Land Grant in 1749Granville Co, NC. He was a Corporal in the 1763 Granville Co, NC Militia. He bought land in 1772 Laurens Co, SC. He left a will, but it has notbeen found.
John, James, Joseph and Jechonias are documented sons of Luke. FamilyTradition says that Mary Ann was Luke's daughter. Circumstantialevidence indicate that Luke, jr. was Luke's son. Possibly Luke hadadditonal daughters whose names are not known. Possibly Luke marriedmore than once, but Christian is his only documented wife. There is nodocumentation that Luke was a grandson of Michael I. However, a numberof Luke's descendants were named Claiborne, and Michael I is the onlyconnection to Claiborne.
