Note: s given to MR. KEARNEY's daughter, who eventually sold him to a (Dr.) ED WILLIAMS of Warren County, in Fork Township. I have found that HUBBARD's mother, MELVY, had been owned by MARTHA (HARDY) ALSTON, b. 1759, who died in 1823 in Warren County and was the mother of MARIAH (ALSTON ) KEARNEY, who married WILLIAM KEARNEY in 1810. MARTHA gave MELVY and her children to the KEARNEYs as part of her 1823 Estate, which was distributed to her grandchildren in 1834. WILLIAM & MARIAH's daughter, VALERIA VIRGINIA KEARNEY, married ROBERT EDGAR WILLIAMS (1817-1904; son of ROBERT WEBB WILLIAMS & HARTY HODGES DAVIS of Franklin County, North Carolina) in 1841 in Warren County, and apparently HUBBARD went with her to the marriage. HUBBARD lived next door to ED, also known as R.E. WILLIAMS in the Census, for the rest of his life. He had a previous marriage to HARRIET WILLIAMS, in 1848, probably from the same plantation, where at least 6 children were born: MARY, MATTHEW (later called MILTON), LONG (later called LUKE), MARTHA ( who apparently died shortly after 1870), and JOHN & PAUL WILLIAMS, who were living next door. He was a lot older than JULIA DAVIS when they married and had: LULABELLE (called CHINA), EDDIE, FRANK, and ROBERT WILLIAMS. As of 1900 here are a list of their known children: Mary Melvina - b. 1852 - from his marriage to Harriet - Matthew Milton - b. 1861 - from his marriage to Harriet - lived in Warren Co.for while/moved to PALuke - b. 1866 - from his marriage to Harriet Martha - b.1869 - died shortly afterwardsHubbard - b. 1877 - died 1880 (may also have been called "Herbert")Minnie -b. 1879Robert - b. March 1886 (different from family records)Eddie- b. Feb. 1889 - married: Lucy Williams, moved to Pennsylvania, had about 3 childrenLucy - b. May 1895 - also known as LulaBelleFrank -b. Oct. 1897(1900 Census says that Judy had born 9 children/ 6 of which show above. Three must have died between 1880 and 1900)***In the 1870 Census, he was apparently enumerated as "HARRY WILLIAMS"- age 47.***In the 1880 Census, he was enumerated as "HERBERT WILLIAMS". ========================================= In the February 1824 Division of Slaves of Martha (Hardy) Alston to the children of Mariah (Alston) Kearney, (wife of William K.
