Note:   , who was the son of JAMES VERSER, a former slave living in the County who was left the plantation of SUSAN WEST (widow of WILLIAM WEST) a white slaveholder, in 1871; the children of both EMMA & JAMES DAVIS carried the middle name of "YOUNG", perhaps this is where it came from. EMMA may have been related to SOLOMON CLANTON, who was th minister in the 1893 Marriage for her daughter, MAGGIE DAVIS.
Note:   EMMA CLANTON was probably some relationship to YOUNG CLANTON, b. abt 1832, of Warren County
