a. Note:   as listed in the Family Bible of PITCHFORD, a copy of which was sent to me by Shirley Pitchford.
 She was among the slaves who were inherited from THOMAS' father, STERLING PITCHFORD, as can be seen in the 1832 Distribution of Slaves from his Estate.
 In looking at the STERLING PITCHFORD Slave Inventory, and seeing the value assessed to each Slave, as well as analyzing the ages of the ones listed in the THOMAS PITCHFORD Family Bible, it appears that PETER and PHILLIS were the parents of the slaves listed after themselves in 1822: WINNY, FANNY, MARIA, PATTY, AMEY, ELIZA, and SARAH. PHILLIS was given to ELIZABETH DAVIS- PITCHFORD (widow of STERLING PITCHFORD) in 1832, along with PETER and FANNY, among others.
