Francis served in the US Army from 12/18/1945 to 4/30/1947 as a Private for 6 months in the infantry, and as a PFC Cook in Japan with the 24th infantry regiment. He separated from the Army at Ft.Lawton, Washington. Prior to joining the Army his address was Star Rt. Box35, Warrenton, NC. He and Betty Davis got married 7/15/1950 in Warren County, and later settled in Boston, Massachusetts to raise their family.
