a. Note:   ently have been unable to find anything on either of them. I believe that her father's name was a misspelling of the name LORENZO MANLEY because he was often called RENZO and similar names leading to mis-identification in some records, In 1850, he was listed as RAMSEY MANLEY; I believe that LOUISA may have been the daughter called FRANCES MANLEY, age 8, in the 1850 Census, she was probably called LUCY MANLEY, age 17 in 1860. In 1870, as LOU COPELAND, after she had been left a widow by the death of her husband, JOSEPH COPELAND, with a young child, she was living in Halifax County between the homes of her RUDD cousins, GARDNER RUDD and WILLIAM RUDD, where also their parents, JAMES & REBECCA (HAWKINS) RUDD was also living.
 She had 7 children, all of whom were dead by 1910.
 Not sure if she was referring to children she had born, or all of JAMES children, since do not know if she had any children between 1880 and 1900.
