Note: hat she ran away so that she could live in a city and pass as white. It is true that she never returned home and that she initially lived in Chicago, but she did stay in contact with at least one of her sisters' until the 1960's, when she was living in New York. Apparently, GEORGIANA had married a white man who didn't know her true heritage, and her sister broke off communications with her in order to help protect that secret. None of the family was ever sure what happened to GEORGIANA after that time and her whereabouts remain a mystery.
