MARY ANN PITCHFORD was a slave of THOMAS JEFFERSON PITCHFORD (1810-1833 Warren Co.,NC) who left a Family Bible which contains a List of his Slaves and their Birth & Death dates.
Since I've received that info, I have been researching that new previously unknown branch of the family and finding a lot of new family connections through both the PITCHFORD and DAVIS side.
THOMAS J. PITCHFORD was the son of STERLING PITCHFORD, d. 1822, & ELIZABETH DAVIS (daughter of MATTHEW DAVIS & MARY MADRAY). THOMAS was married to MATILDA HINTON CHEEK (1812-1881) daughter of ROBERT TYNES CHEEK (1772-1841) and MARY HINTON ALSTON (1772-1864); MARY was the daughter of JAMES ALSTON (1754-1805) and SARAH KEARNEY (1758-1803); JAMES was the son of SOLOMON ALSTON (1701-1784) and NANCY SARAH HINTON; SOLOMON was the son of JOHN ALSTON (d. 1755) and MARY CLARK (d. 1765). One of THOMAS J. PITCHFORD's sons was the REV. JAMES ALSTON PITCHFORD (1837-1905) whose wife was SALLY DAVIS.

 MINNIE, b. Dec. 1858 - dead 1862
